Kajian Konteks Dalam Tindakan Tutur Tidak Langsung

Abstract

To understand the meaning of speaker, it is not able to know the meaning just based on semantics analysis, but it should be explored using context as one of the issues. Context has been discussed by Vilem Mathesius, Malinowski, and J.R. Firth. Pragmatics takes context which is thrown away by semantics in wastebasket since it cannot solve the problems of speaker’s internal meaning. Indirect speech act as one of the issues in pragmatics considers context in its analysis, thus we can grab the illocutionary force of the speaker. The context   involved are time and place setting, language interaction between speaker and hearer, and relation between them. Key words: pragmatics, context, indirect speech act
