Penerapan “Caregiver Skill Program” untuk Mereduksi Inatensi pada Anak ADHD

Abstract

Parents attempt to resolve inattention symptom problem in child with ADHD.  This research involves a major redesigning of parenting techniques into a medication-free approach called the Caregiver Skill Program (CSP). This study focuses to reduce attention deficit in ADHD child with Caregiver Skill Program (CSP). CSP is a skill method where parents give child considerable attention and assistance by giving  time out sanction. When CSP was done at home, parents always got feedback written in the daily report card everyday from the class teacher. The subject of the research is a boy, aged 9 years old. He is an ADHD child based on DSM IV. The method of the research was a single subject design (ABC with 1 month follow up). After the parents were trained and began implementing the CSP, inattention as a target  behavior seemed decrease. After one month follow up, it indicated that the attention of the this child had improved and be stable. The result of the study showed that CSP may reduce the attention deficiency of ADHD child. Key words: CSP; parent home-based management; inattention; the daily report card; time out
