Abstract

Market pressures, internal resource constraints and lack of innovative capabilities possessed by an organization will force the organization to undertake the strategic development in identifying and searching for the core competencies related to the product and market potential, long-term goals and policies to achieve the goal. Strategic development is done by doing the practices/management process directed at competitive priority.  Practice/management processes developed in the model includes the organizational culture, total quality management, technology management, research and development, innovation and knowledge management, application of information technology (IT), top management commitment, alliance development, supplier development and performance measurement and competitiveness. Based on in-depth literature review, there are some important conclusions that can be used as a reference by practitioners as well as academics.
